Custom IR Burners

manufactured by Infraglo

Custom infrared burner systems engineered for efficiency, precision and performance.

Infraglo designs and manufactures advanced metal fibre gas fired infrared burners tailored to demanding industrial, catering and food processing applications.

Unlike conventional ceramic or atmospheric systems, our custom burners can be constructed to almost any size, shape and output, delivering superior energy efficiency, precise thermal control and significantly reduced emissions.

If you have an unusual heating or drying requirement, our engineering team can design a burner solution around your process, not the other way round.

Custom Metal Fibre Infrared Burners

Metal fibre technology allows us to move beyond the size and shape limitations of ceramic burners.

Key Capabilities

  • Constructed to almost any size or geometry

  • Flat burners from as little as 50mm thick

  • Can be designed to radiate internally

  • Suitable for high pressure gas or advanced premix systems

  • Heat outputs from 1kW to 20kW per 100mm², scalable as required

Performance Characteristics

  • Fast response due to low thermal inertia

  • High modulation capability

  • Homogeneous combustion

  • Flashback safety

  • High temperature corrosion resistance

  • Thermal shock resistance

  • Mechanical shock resistance

  • Operating temperatures up to 1300°C

Advanced Metal Fibre Material

  • Our burners utilise Fecralloy® metal fibre — a Fe-Cr-Al alloy containing yttrium for exceptional oxidation resistance and structural stability at high temperatures.

This material provides:

  • Extended high-temperature life

  • Superior form stability

  • Long service intervals

  • Reliable performance in harsh industrial environments

Premix Infrared Burner Systems

Traditional atmospheric burners mix gas and air at the nozzle, often resulting in inefficiencies, excess air usage and inconsistent combustion.

Infraglo’s premix systems ensure precise gas/air ratios across the full modulation range.

Benefits of Premix with Metal Fibre

  • Accurate combustion throughout turndown range

  • Reduced CO, CO₂ and NOx emissions

  • High turndown ratio for precise radiant temperature control

  • Lower fuel consumption

  • Minimal excess air

  • Reduced atmosphere disturbance (ideal for clean environments)

  • Improved substrate heat absorption

  • Supersaver gauze option (up to 25% efficiency improvement)

Our QUBE premix systems allow:

  • Independent burner zone control

  • Fully profiled thermal zoning

  • Rapid modulation response within seconds

Commercial & Industrial Applications

Why
custom burner solution?

Engineered Around Your Process

We design the burner to suit your substrate, environment and thermal profile — including internal radiation configurations where required.

Maximum Energy Efficiency

Radiant heat transfer ensures energy is directed to the product rather than wasted heating surrounding structures.

Emissions Compliance

Premix combustion allows us to meet the tightest emission regulations.

High Turndown Ratio

Control radiant temperature and wavelength to optimise absorption for your material.

Clean Environment Operation

Low velocity airstream minimises dust entrainment and atmospheric disturbance.

Proven Industrial Reliability

Robust metal fibre construction withstands shock, corrosion and extreme temperatures.

Long Service Life

Expected burner life: 25,000+ hours
